A pedestrian was hit and killed on I-26 Friday morning, according to Master Trooper David Jones of the SC Highway Patrol.

Jones said the incident occurred on I-26 Westbound in Lexington County, around 7:10 a.m. near Exit 116, at the I-77 Northbound Exit.

A 2006 Chevy truck hit a pedestrian and the pedestrian was killed. Jones said the pedestrian was walking in the road. The driver of the truck was wearing a seatbelt and no other injuries were reported. The incident is under investigation by the SC highway Patrol.
