The SC Highway Patrol is reporting that one person died after being struck on US 1 in Lexington County, Thursday.

A 2004 Jeep Patriot was traveling north on US1, near Ermine Road, when it hit a pedestrian crossing US 1, said Master Trooper David Jones. The incident occurred at 5:45 a.m.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

The SCHP is investigating the incident.
