One person died and two others were injured in a Lexington County crash on Sunday afternoon, according to Master Trooper William Bennett of the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

He said the crash occurred around 1:30 p.m. on South Lake Drive at Paps Drive south of Lexington.

A 2016 Kawasaki motorcycle was heading east on South Lake Drive, Bennett said, and a 2003 Chevy SUV was heading west when the two collided.

The driver of the motorcycle was taken to Lexington Medical Center for treatment but died. There were four people in the SUV, and two were taken to Lexington Medical Center for treatment.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office is expected to release the name of the person who died. The crash is still under investigation by the SCHP.
