One person died Friday in a Lexington County crash on SC Highway 302, near Pelion, at 12:55, Friday afternoon.

A 2020 Dodge pickup struck a 2010 Toyota Coupe that was crossing SC Highway 302, about three miles from Pelion at Bub Shumpert Road.

The Toyota was struck on the driver’s side, according to Master Trooper M.R. Ridgeway of the SC Highway Patrol. The driver of the Toyota died at the scene. The name of the deceased has not yet been released by the Lexington County Coroner’s Office.
