A two-vehicle collision in Lexington County Monday evening, resulted in a fatality according to South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP) report.

A collision occurred at 5:45 p.m. on U.S. 21 near Calvary Church Road, according to the SCHP. The driver of a 1990 Jeep was killed at the scene of the accident after that vehicle collided with a 2004 Ford Mustang. The driver of the Mustang was transported to a local hospital with injuries

Both vehicles were wearing seat belts at the time of the collision.

The S.C. Highway Patrol is investigating the accident. the circumstances leading up to the crash. The driver of the Mustang was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

The identity of the person killed in the crash will be released by the Lexington County Coroner’s Office following notification of next-of-kin.
