From Ashley Hunter, City of Cayce – At approximately 10:47 p.m. on Saturday, officers with the Cayce Police Department responded to a call regarding shots fired in the parking lot of the Love’s Travel Stop, at 2015 Bluff Road in Cayce.

While responding to the call, officers were notified of a vehicle that overturned on the Interstate 77 exit ramp off Bluff Road. It is believed that the driver and occupants of the overturned vehicle were involved in the shooting. All occupants fled the scene on foot.

The only injury that stemmed from this incident is one male subject self-transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Cayce Police Department was assisted by the Richland County Sheriff’s Department, the South Carolina Highway Patrol, and the Columbia Police Department. The incident remains under investigation and more information will be provided as it becomes available.
