The fall weather 2026 is finally here and the last days of September are winding down. That means October, and Oktoberfest events, are in keeping with the season. In West Columbia, you can live it up, and celebrate with several events this Saturday.  

Savage Craft Ale Works Oktoberfest is Saturday, Sept. 26.

“It’s a fun, carnival-themed day full of cold beer, good food, games, music, and plenty of reasons to stay awhile,” said Savage Craft General Manager Victoria Porter. “The Street beside us will be closed off from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. We know how to do OktoberFest. You do not want to miss it.”

At Savage Craft: there will be a Stilt Walker; Carnival Rides; A Vendor Market; and a Face Painter: a 50-ft Loop-O-Plane Adult Ride, a Steinhold Competition, a Fire Show, and Live Music featuring: Hijacked from Noon-to-3 p.m.; Tales of Oldsoul from 3:30 p.m.-to-6:30 p.m. and U-Phonik from 7 p.m.-to-10 p.m.

“We’ll also have all kinds of Oktoberfest-centric food all day long,” Victoria said.  

The special Oktoberfest food menu includes: a veal Schnitzel Bowl; a veal Schnitzel Sandwich; Spaetzle; Hendl; German Burger; German Patato Salad; and a Jumbo Pretzel. Desserts include: Apple Strudel and Funnel Cakes.  

The fall season is also not lost on WECO Bottle and Biergartin.

We’ve been getting in OktoberFest Marzen style beer for a while, now,” said WECO  Bottle and Biergartin General Manager Meredith Weir. “We have beers from local and regional breweries and we have some shipped in from Germany, too.

Meredith said stouts and porters are a popular choice in the fall months. And WECO Bottle and Biergartin also stocks pumpkin spice brews in stout, amber and lager varieties.
At WECO Bottle and Biergartin the fall weather is perfect for the back porch covered outdoor seating area and there are always popular food trucks on site, a different one each day. 

For your fall coffee brews: Cafe Strudel on State Street is serving up special fall flavors in September and October. The Hideout in WECO is another place to get seasonal specialty drinks, along with Brickhouse Coffee on Meeting Street.
