SLED is investigating a Sunday night shooting that involves a Department of Public Safety officer.

Officers were called to a report of shots fired at a home Sunday night, according to  SLED. At the site, officers became involved in a confrontation with a man when the shooting occurred.

The man who was shot was taken to a Columbia hospital for treatment. His condition has not been released.

SLED is working to gather evidence in the case. Dash cam video of the incident exists, but there is no body cam video. SLED has not released any other details.

Two Cayce Public Safety officers were cleared by SLED in a shooting incident last year. An officer was wounded by gunfire in that confrontation.
