Lexington Police were on the scene of a collision in the 4800 block of Sunset Blvd. (US-378) on Saturday. An inbound lane was closed until the scene was cleared.

The crash was one of many that have occurred in Lexington recently. Lexington Police reported that there has been “a serious uptick” in accidents in the last few days. There were nine collisions on Friday. Police are reminding everyone to be patient and alert while driving, and always follow the rules of the road. Police also reminded drivers to slow down.

Shoppers should be especially careful in parking lots, police said, because too many crashes are happening when drivers are backing from parking spaces. (LPD photo)
