New hotel planned for Sunset Boulevard in West Columbia as city improves infrastructure
Changes are coming to the Sunset Boulevard Corridor, west of Lexington Medical Center, in West Columbia. The city’s infrastructure is being upgraded with the installation of a new water and sewer line moving toward I-20.
Construction is now ongoing at “Langley Pointe.” It’s 38 acres bordered by Sunset Boulevard, Henbet Drive and Ephrata Drive. Langley Pointe is a $60 million high-end apartment complex, that will also have retail and commercial spaces. A monitored and controlled traffic signal is planned for the intersection of Henbet and Sunset.
In addition to Langley Pointe, property on Sunset Boulevard is being cleared as part of plans to build a hotel. A rendering was revealed Monday, at the West Columbia City Council meeting, of a hotel that is to be built on Sunset Boulevard. The new building will be a Tru by Hilton on one side and a Home2 Suites on the other side, according to the rendering.
Two hotels, TownePlace Suites and a Residence Inn, have already opened in the Sunset Boulevard Corridor.
