The new Goodwill facility in West Columbia has scheduled a ribbon cutting ceremony for Wednesday, June 29.

“We can’t wait to open,” said Crystal Hardesty Director of Marketing/PR for Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands SC.

Hardesty said the store will be open to the public at 9 a.m. on Thursday, June 30.

The West Columbia operation will serve as Goodwill’s Midlands Headquarters

The site will include including a Donation Center, Retail Store, Outlet, and Job Connection center.

The new 36,000-sq-ft Goodwill facility will be twice the size of the Goodwill store on Meeting Street in West Columbia.

The new Goodwill will employ 40 people. That is four times as many as currently employed in the local store.
