The New Brookland Tavern building, at 122 State St. in West Columbia, is for sale.
The venue is iconic and has for decades presented bands, shows, and other kinds of entertainment.

The asking price for the building, according to “The State” newspaper is nearly $775,000. “The Lexington County Chronicle” first reported the possible move of the club.,

At around 6 p.m. Tuesday $13,882 had been donated.

An announcement appeared on NBT’s Facebook page before noon on Tuesday. Link to NBT Facebook page

It reads: “Been thinking all morning how to address this, and there really is no easy explanation. Our building is for sale. We are unsure of our next move, but we are hitting this head on immediately so that we can ensure a seamless transition of our business whether we stay or move to a new location. These things can take months which buys us time, but we also are already locking in shows for 2024 so we kinda have to go ahead and prepare for the worst. Could be time for a fresh start somewhere else.
