Nephron is one of S.C.’s fastest-growing businesses
S.C. Biz News recognized Nephron Pharmaceuticals Corporation as one of South Carolina’s top three fastest-growing businesses during a celebration last Thursday in Columbia. Nephron is outside of Cayce -in Lexington County’s Saxe Goth Industrial Park- and it has a West Columbia address.
“South Carolina is open for business,” said Nephron CEO Lou Kennedy. “Thanks to the competitive environment for business development in our state, companies like ours have a better opportunity to flourish than anywhere else. We are grateful to be recognized as one of the fastest growing businesses in South Carolina. But, as our employees will tell you, we are just getting started.”
Earlier this year, twenty large companies and 20 small companies were named to the statewide list of fastest-growing businesses presented annually by S.C. Biz News – a recognition based on both dollar and percentage increases in revenue from 2017-2018.
In order to qualify for one of S.C. Biz News’ awards, companies must have a physical presence in South Carolina and be a for-profit entity or a nonprofit organization.
S.C. Biz News determines company size by gross revenue: A small company does $10 million or under in revenue. Large companies generate more than $10 million in revenue. Small companies must have had revenues of at least $500,000 each year for the years 2016, 2017 and 2018.
Profiles of the winning companies will be published in the winter issue of S.C. BIZ magazine.
