Neighbors removed as Lexington Police negotiate with barricaded subject
After over twelve hours of both the LPD and Lexington County Sheriff’s Department Crisis Negotiations Teams attempting to talk a barricaded man from a shed, tactical operations by the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department brought the incident to a close. The man was transported by Lexington County EMS for a mental health evaluation at the hospital.
Robert Street was closed, in Lexington, between South Church Street and Cladius Street. Lexington Police reported around 11 a.m. Thursday, a barricaded subject is in a backyard shed.
The Crisis Negotiations Team spoke to the barricaded subject on the 200 block of Roberts Street over a mobile phone. Neighbors in the area have been removed from their homes and there is no threat to others. Avoid Roberts Street, between South Church Street and Claudius Street, until this incident is over.
