National Weather Service updated forecast (7 a.m. Tuesday) shows the possibility for a higher snow total for Lexington County
As of 7 a.m., Tuesday, the National Weather Service of Columbia issued an update: The Latest trends continue to indicate an uptick in the snow totals with the upcoming winter weather. The earlier forecast called for about one-tenth of an inch of snow for Lexington County. Now the forecast calls for an inch of snow for the Lexington County area.
(The NWS has) issued Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories for (the) entire forecast area (Tuesday) morning shown in the first image. The latest forecast snow amounts for the area are in the second image. Generally less than an inch north of I-20 and up to 3″ south of I-20. Snow banding is possible with this storm, with the highlighted area having the highest potential for local amounts greater than 3 inches.
