businesses.

John Dytrych, 29, is charged with two counts of kidnapping, armed robbery, carjacking, possessing a weapon during a violent crime and attempting to purchase more than nine grams of pseudoephedrine in 30 days, according to arrest warrants.

“Investigators have determined Dytrych robbed the Pop’s convenience store on South Lake Drive Saturday morning while armed with a handgun and then immediately carjacked a getaway car from the Bojangle’s next door,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said. “Detectives tracked Dytrych to a location on Old Barnwell Road Saturday evening and arrested him. The car he got away in was recovered at the same location.”

According to Koon, the Lexington Police Department expects to serve warrants on Dytrych in connection with a robbery at the Rite-Aid on West Main Street in Lexington.

“The drug charge against Dytrych stems from his attempt to purchase more pseudoephedrine than is legally allowed during a transaction at a West Columbia pharmacy Friday night,” Koon said.

Dytrych is being held in the Lexington County Detention while he awaits a bond hearing scheduled for Monday.
