Motorcycle rider dies after hitting a deer in Lexington County Sunday night

A motorcycle rider hit a deer in a Lexington County Sunday night, according to Master Trooper David Jones of the SC Highway Patrol. The rider on the motorcycle was killed in the collision that took place around 10:30 p.m. on S.C. 6.

Jones said a 2002 Harley-Davidson was traveling east near the intersection with Beaver Creek Road when the motorcycle hit a deer. The rider was thrown from the motorcycle and later died at an area hospital, according to Jones. The Lexington County Coroner’s Office has not yet identified the victim.
