Masks required at USC’s 10 scheduled football games
The Southeastern Conference’s COVID guidelines for attending football games includes masks. The SEC announced procedures for games Tuesday.
South Carolina’s first game is Sept. 26, at home versus Tennessee.
“Although local and state guidelines will determine if and how many fans can attend games, these guidelines provide conference-wide expectations for protection of guests who are able to attend our games,” SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey.
In addition to requiring fans to wear face coverings, the SEC regulations will be similar to grocery store guidelines with shields at concessions stands, seating rules.
The rules are being imposed as coronavirus cases, and the number of deaths, have declined.
The SEC will play a league-only schedule starting Sept. 26. The PAC-12 and Big Ten have canceled football for this fall. The SEC, ACC and Big 12 are planning to play.
