Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has positively identified the person who died in a motorcycle vs. vehicle accident on Meadowfield Road near Woodtrail Drive in the Gaston area of Lexington County, Wednesday.

According to Fisher, Mr. Travis Leon Horton, 38, of Pelion was traveling northbound on Meadowfield Road attempting to evade police when he struck a vehicle also traveling northbound on Meadowfield Road. Mr. Horton, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol, the South Carolina Highway Patrol MAIT, and the Lexington County Coroner’s Office continue to investigate the incident.
