Christopher Lee Sisney, 37, of Houston, Texas, has been arrested in connection to a case involving flags stolen from yards and outside of homes in a neighborhood off of Ginny Lane.

On the evening of Wednesday, July 14, a resident of the Wellesley neighborhood called police and said that he believed that the subject seen on a security footage related to the flag thefts was walking in the neighborhood.

Officers searched the area and later found Sisney, 37, of Houston, Texas, near the neighborhood entrance.

During an interview with officers, Sisney told them that he was staying with friends who live in Wellesley and then confessed to stealing the American flags and yard decorations from homes and yards in the neighborhood.

When asked why he had stolen the flags Sisney stated that he wasn’t really sure and did so while heavily intoxicated.
He stated that he had no memory of where he put the flags other than throwing them in the woods.

Sisney’s arrest stems from a series of incident reports that had been taken earlier in the week where officers responded to numerous thefts that occurred in the neighborhood.

Eight American flags, along with a decorative yard flag, had been stolen with the first incident happening on June 25, and the last incidents happening on July 12.
Sisney has been charged with seven counts of Petit Larceny and he was taken to the Lexington County Detention Center and issued a bond of $1,400.
