The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department reported receiving a call Sunday afternoon about a man armed with a gun threatening to shoot as many people as he could in the Red Bank Walmart.

Deputies responded to the location and cleared the store.

Deputies said they “had not seen a man with a gun, nor has anyone else reported seeing a man with a gun. (They had) not come across any evidence of any shots. No one has heard any shots.

Deputies were also trying track the number that called in the threat.
