A fatal shooting occurred in the 100 block of Freedom Drive, in Lexington Sunday according to Lexington Police Chief Terrence Green. Green stated the shooting took place at approximately 5:25 p.m.

Officers with the Lexington Police Department were dispatched and found a man who had been fatally shot.

This investigation of thje shooting is ongoing and invlves the Lexington Police Department, the State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) and the Lexington County Coroner’s Office.

Additional information will be released as it becomes available. Green is reassuring the public that there is no danger to the community.
