Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher is releasing the identity of a man who was found dead
outside of a residence in the 500 block of Ash Street in the Batesburg area of Lexington County on
Thursday, shortly after 12:30 a.m.

Fisher states that Mr. Scottrell Juarez West, 37, of Monetta, was pronounced dead on the scene
due to multiple gunshot wounds.

The Batesburg-Leesville Police Department, the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, and the
Lexington County Coroner’s Office continue to investigate this incident.
