Man found dead at assisted living facility in Cayce, cause of death unknown
Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the person found dead Friday, shortly before 10 a.m. at the Twilite Manor Assisted Living Facility located on Forrest Street in Cayce.
Fisher states that Mr. Timothy Frank Catalano, 69, who has been a resident at the Twilite Manor facility since March 1, 2012 was found unresponsive by his roommate who immediately called 911 since there was only a housekeeper and the other residents present at the facility during the time Mr. Catalano was discovered.
No medical staff or other facility personnel were or had been present at the facility since before 7 a.m. per a housekeeper. Another resident of the facility was transported to an area hospital and their condition is unknown at this time. The cause of Mr. Catalano’s death is unknown at this time. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday, February 21, 2022 at MUSC in Charleston.
The Cayce Department of Public Safety and the Lexington County Coroner’s Office along with DHEC and DSS continue to investigate this case. More information will be released as it becomes available.
