Man dies in Lake Murray tubing accident and a body is recovered from drowning 2 weeks ago

A 35-year-old man riding on a tube behind a boat was killed after he hit a watercraft on Lake Murray, Saturday.

The incident happened near Dreher Island State Park around 2:30 p.m., according to the SC Department of Natural Resources.

The man was being pulled on a tube behind a jet ski, when he hit another watercraft.

Also, the body of a swimmer was recovered on June 28, according to the SC DNR.
More than a week before the body was discovered a group of people were on a boat when one person in the group failed to surface.

The incident occurred near the North Lake Drive area of the lake. It’s believed the death is an accidental drowning.
