Man charged with sexually abusing a minor
Robert Miller of West Columbia has been charged with sexually abusing a minor.
South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson announced the June 3, arrest of Miller, age 37, Friday, on five charges connected to the sexual exploitation of minors.
Investigators with the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force and the Lexington County Sheriff’s Office arrested Miller.
The Attorney General’s Office, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and the U.S. Secret Service, all also members of the state’s ICAC Task Force, assisted with the investigation.
Investigators received a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and that led them to Miller. Miller is accused of engaging in criminal sexual conduct with a minor and. Investigators said Miller possessed multiple files of child sexual abuse material.
He is charged with two counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor, first degree; and three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, first degree, felonies punishable by up to 20 years imprisonment on each count.
This case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office.
