Lucky’s Sports Shack of Cayce, where you feel like you’re home, is in the Business Spotlight
It’s your lucky day when you walk into Lucky’s Sports Shack at 3030 Charleston Highway in Cayce (at the intersection of fish Hatchery Road.)
Cheryl Gunter opened Lucky’s more than five years ago and since opening, Lucky’s has become ingrained in the Cayce Community. She also owns the Lucky’s in Irmo that opened 14 years ago.
When she wanted to open a second location, Cayce was the perfect spot. Since she opened she has watched the area around her develop and grow.
“They are not customers at Lucky’s, they’re like family,” Cheryl said. “And I have a dedicated and loyal staff. The staff here has formed great relationships with our regulars and it’s like home. Angie Yarbrough is the manager and she makes everyone feel at home.”
Lucky’s is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. The reason it feels like home is because the dishes at Lucky’s are always fresh and consistent. Brian Williams is the kitchen manager and he’s been with Lucky’s for 14 years.

“We have a special every day,” Cheryl said. “We have macaroni and cheese, meat loaf, mashed potatoes, country fried steak, and fresh vegetables. We also have all kinds of handmade Angus beef burgers, with cheese, onion rings and home fries. Wings, quesadillas and nachos are other items on our menu. On Friday we have seafood with shrimp and oysters. There’s a Sunday brunch too, with omelets, French toast and shrimp and grits.”
Lucky’s is a favorite spot for personnel of the Cayce Fire Department and the Cayce Police Department. On Wednesday, two tables of firefighters were taking their lunch break at Lucky’s.
“The police department, the fire department and the city staff of Cayce have been great,” Cheryl said. “We’re very well supported by the City of Cayce and I appreciate them so much.”

Lucky’s is in the Cayce City Council District represented by Phil Carter.
“I am very glad to have Lucky’s in Cayce,” Carter said. “Lucky’s is not only a very good place to eat, it’s the kind of business we love to see. Lucky’s adds to the quality of living in Cayce. Every time I’ve been into Lucky’s I’ve enjoyed it. They are great people here.”
In addition to the food and beverages, Lucky’s has five tV screens for watching sporting events. There are also two pool tables at Lucky’s.
“If you like to play pool or you want to watch a game, we’re inviting you to Lucky’s,” Cheryl said. “We’ll treat you like family, because that’s what we are.”
