Lindsey Miles sworn in to Chair the Cayce-West Columbia Chamber Board, Mayor Tem Miles speaks of new developments in 2025


The Cayce-West Columbia Chamber of Commerce swore in new board members Friday morning. Lindsey Miles was sworn in to Chair the Chamber Board. It is her unprecedented third consecutive term as Board Chair. The swearing in took place at the C-WC Chamber’s 2025 Strategic Planning Meeting held at the LS3P architecture and planning firm in West Columbia’s Brookland Development.  

Miles and Blackstone

West Columbia Mayor Tem Miles spoke at the meeting. He said he expects development of Capitol Square on Sunset Boulevard to take shape in 2025, and there are some major retailers interested in locating there. There will be more information about the project in coming weeks.

Columbia Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Carl Blackstone spoke. He said the Capitol Square project is a “gamechanger.” Blackstone also said he’s seen “amazing changes” at the C-WC Chamber in the last three years, since Tim James became Chamber CEO and President. “Things are going unbelievably well.” And he said he expects to see unprecedented growth in the area in the next 10 years.

James said many projects are coming. He also said the C-WC Chamber has more than 400 members and represents 278,000 employees. C-WC Board Members (pictured below) sworn in Friday by Board Chair Lindsey Miles, are: JB Beckett, Kathleen Hoover, Marci Delaney, Chuck Underhill, Oliver Moore and Mark Mossell.
