Dianne Wells, 36, of Lexington was struck by a vehicle and killed early Tuesday morning. She was part of a fitness group called Females in Action or FiA.

Wells was a wife and the mother of three children. The accident that took her life occurred at approximately 5:10 a.m., on Augusta Highway (US 1) at Charter Road near Lexington High School.

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher said Wells died at the scene from her injuries. The driver of the vehicle involved stopped to render aid.

A memorial fundraiser has been established in Wells’ name at the crowdfunding website Give Send Go. As of early Wednesday morning, more than $33,000 had been given to the fund. – Some of the donors included a message with their contribution to the memorial fund:

Anonymous Donor: Most children were cruel to me in elementary school but you were not. 3 decades later and I’ve not forgotten that. I’m so sorry for your family and this world’s loss.
