Ashley Nicole Cross faces three counts of unlawful use of 911, and providing false information to law enforcement officials, according to the Lexington Police Department.
Cross, 22, was charged Monday after allegedly calling 911 three times earlier in the month to report “suspicious” clown sightings.
The 911 calls were made between Sept. 8 and Sept. 11. The calls were related to a “suspicious” clown sighting at the Lauren Ridge Apartments, 500 Carlen Ave., Lexington.
Lexington police investigated the reported sightings and determined the calls to be a hoax, and charged Cross.
Cross turned herself in, to authorities on Monday. She has been released on bond.
