South Carolina Law Enforcement Division arrested arrested Kathryn Lenni Ward, 36, of Lexington, Friday for Breach of trust with fraudulent intent. More than $45,000 was stolen, according to SLED. The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department requested a SLED investigation.

Ward was arrested by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department in North Carolina. She was extradited back to South Carolina and was served the arrest warrant by SLED agents.

Ward was a manager at the Barnyard Flea Market, 4414 Augusta Rd. in West Columbia, from Dec. 2020 until Sept. 2021. She was responsible for counting money and stole money from the flea market, according to the SLED warrant.

The flea market conducted an internal audit and found Ward allegedly voided cash transactions for rent payments from booth vendors and then changed the amounts.

Ward was booked at the Lexington County Detention Center. The case will be prosecuted by the 11th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
