Lexington Two names Brian Chatman as new Chief Operations Officer
Lexington School District Two has named Brian Chatman as the new Chief Operations Officer for the district.
Chatman, who currently serves as director of administration for Saluda County Schools, will succeed Don Icenhower, who previously announced his retirement at the end of the current school year. Chatman’s appointment was approved during a special session of the Lexington Two Board of Trustees on Wednesday, May 5.
Prior to his current role in Saluda County Schools, Chatman served as director of student services and hearing officer for the district. He also previously served as an assistant principal at high schools in Richland One, Orangeburg County School District Five (now Orangeburg Consolidated District Five), Aiken County Schools and Lexington-Richland 5. Chatman received a bachelor’s degree from Benedict College, a master’s degree from Webster University, and an M.Ed. and Ed.S. from the University of South Carolina.
“I am very excited to have Mr. Chatman come to Lexington Two and be part of an exciting time here in the district with our current and future changes,” said Superintendent Dr. Nicolas Wade. “It is clear through my interactions with him and from those he has worked with that he is a constructive collaborator who is clear in his direction and communication.”
Chatman will begin his new role on July 1.
