Lexington Two is giving away free keepsake bricks from the former Pair Elementary
Lexington Two will be giving away free keepsake bricks – while they last – from the former Pair Elementary.
The giveaway will run 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, March 10, at the district office, 715 Ninth St., West Columbia. The event will be held rain or shine.
- Turn into the district office parking lot, off Ninth Street.
- Keep right, following the loop all the way around the back side of the parking lot, then taking a slight left to pull up to the curb in front of the district office.
- Two bricks per person in the vehicle.
Pair, built in 1953, was among the earliest of Lexington Two’s school buildings. In addition to serving as an elementary school, Pair later served as home to the alternative education program, adult education program, Student Services and technical department offices, and as a temporary day care center amid COVID. Items have been removed, and new items brought in, as the building undertook new uses.
Demolition of the building started in December 2022, and work is near completion at the site along Platt Springs Road.
Lexington Two plans to repurpose the Pair site, and the district looks forward to sharing that news once it is available.
