Detectives with the Lexington Police Department have begun a death investigation, according to Chief Terrence Green.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office is assisting. At approximately 1:30 p.m., Sunday, officers were dispatched to a call of a suicide that occurred inside a residence on Ivy Hill Court in the Westbrook neighborhood. Upon arrival, officers found a woman, age 36, who was deceased.

The investigation is ongoing and more information may be released at a later time.
