Lexington Police ask for help to ID armed robbery suspect

The Lexington Police Department is asking for assistance to identify a male who was involved in an armed robbery of the CVS Pharmacy in the early morning of Thursday, according to Lexington Police Chief Terrance Green.

At approximately 2:56 a.m., officers were dispatched to the CVS Pharmacy, which is located at 5608 Sunset Blvd. in Lexington, for an armed robbery that had just occurred.

When officers arrived, they spoke to witnesses who stated that a black male entered the store and presented a handgun along with a note demanding a list of prescription medications to be given to him.  During the incident, the armed robber stole several of the store employee’s mobile phones before fleeing the scene with multiple prescription medications in a white KIA Optima that was being driven by an unknown accomplice.

Officers found the victims’ mobile phones had been discarded nearby the scene and the white KIA Optima was found a short time later in in the City of Columbia.  The vehicle had been stolen prior to being used in this incident.

Detectives are looking for a black male, age late teens to early 20’s, who is approximately 5’7” in height and weighing 125-140 pounds.  He was dressed in a green VANS hoodie sweatshirt, orange pants with white stripes down the leg, black with white tennis shoes and had long black hair that may have been partially woven in dreads.

Anyone who knows the identity of the armed robber, or the accomplice, involved in this armed robbery incident, is asked to contact Detective Johnson at 803-358-1557.
