Lexington One Schools announce the district is canceling school on Monday

Lexington One Schools announced to its employees and families that the district is canceling school on Monday.

Below is the message:
What’s happening: Lexington One is canceling school for all students and employees on Monday, Sept. 30. All schools and offices will be closed, and all extracurricular activities are canceled.

What to know: The Lexington area continues to feel the impact of Hurricane Helene. Power outages are still affecting employees and families, as well as some facilities, including a few schools. Additionally, there are ongoing concerns about blocked roads that would prevent buses from safely running their routes.

Due to the widespread and extended power outages, eLearning is not a viable option for Monday.

Another update will be provided on Monday regarding a decision about Tuesday.

Why it matters: We understand the disruption this causes, but the well-being of our students, employees and community is our top priority. Together, we can ensure everyone stays safe as we work through these challenges. Thank you for your support and understanding during this difficult time.
