Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the individual who died as a result of a vehicle vs. tractor trailer accident on Interstate 20 near mile marker 40 at approximately 3:50 p.m. on Tuesday.

According to Fisher, Mr. Sahib Singh Cheema, 61, of Lexington was traveling eastbound when his vehicle went off the right side of the roadway and struck the rear end of a tractor trailer. Mr. Cheema, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene due to his injuries. The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured during the collision.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate.
