
Lexington man dies after being hit on Platt Springs Road, early Tuesday, Coroner identifies
Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the person who died in a vehicle vs. pedestrian accident in the 5400 block of Platt Springs Road in the Lexington area of Lexington County on
Tuesday, at approximately 6:45 a.m.
According to Fisher, Mr. Russell Keith Coufal, 73, of Lexington, was crossing Platt Springs Road when he was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound on Platt Springs Road. Mr. Coufal was pronounced dead on scene due to the injuries sustained in the collision. The driver and passenger remained on scene and were not injured.
The Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol continue to investigate the incident.
