Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher on Monday released the identity of the person who was killed in a motorcycle vs. vehicle accident on July 31. The collision occurred at the intersection of West Columbia Avenue and Oak Street in Batesburg.

According to Coroner Fisher, Morgan Lyle Bevensee, 59, of Lexington was riding his motorcycle while travelling westbound on West Columbia Avenue when another vehicle failed to yield right of way. Mr. Bevensee was transported to an area hospital. He died on Sunday (Aug. 15) from the injuries he sustained in the accident.
The Batesburg-Leesville Police Department investigated the incident.
