Lexington High student struck by vehicle on school grounds
The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department is investigating after an LHS student was struck by a vehicle on school grounds.
A Lexington High School student is in serious but stable condition after being struck by a vehicle on school grounds at Lexington High School early Wednesday morning.
Emergency response units were dispatched to Lexington High School just after 8:15 a.m. in reference to the incident. Upon arrival, Lexington County firefighters and EMS units began providing immediate emergency medical care to the student before transporting them to a local hospital.
Lexington County School District One officials have notified the student’s parents.

Her release stated:
During student drop off this morning, a Lexington High School 11th-grader stepped out to cross to Lexington Technology Center from a Lexington High School parking area when he was hit by a truck.
The student stepped out to cross to Lexington Technology Center from a Lexington High School parking area located in front of the LHS baseball fields when he was hit by a truck.
School administrators, School Resource Officers, other law enforcement, district security administrators, the fire department and emergency medical services quickly responded.
School administrators contacted the student’s parents, and EMS transported the student to the hospital.
