The County of Lexington’s Department of Solid Waste Management wants to be sure residents are aware of upcoming holiday hours.

Please note the following changes to the hours of operation during the Holidays and PLAN AHEAD as some services will be closed several days in a row this year.

Collection and Recycling Centers will be CLOSED on, Sunday December 24th, Monday December 25th, Tuesday December 26th Collection and Recycling Centers are normally closed on this day) Regular schedule for these centers will resume on Wednesday December 27th.

The Collection and Recycling Centers will be open 3pm-7pm Sunday, December 31st but will be closed Monday, January 1st for New Year’s Day. The Centers will also be closed Tuesday, January 2nd and will resume regularly scheduled hours on Wednesday January 3rd. Collection and Recycling Center Regular hours are: Mon, Wed, Fri and Sat. from 7:00 a.m.- 7:00p.m. and Sundays 3pm-7pm.

Edmund Landfill will be CLOSED on, Monday December 25th for Christmas Day and resume regularly scheduled hours on Tuesday December 26th. The Edmund landfill will also be closed Monday, January 1st for New Year’s Day and resume regularly scheduled hours January 2nd. (Edmund Landfill Regular hours: Mon-Sat 7:00am-4:30pm)

Administration Offices will be CLOSED- Friday December 22nd, Monday December 25th and Tuesday December 26th. Regular hours will resume Wednesday December 27th. Administrative Office regular hours are Mon.-Fri. 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.

Curbside services Will be DELAYED by one day on these dates:
Monday, DEC 25th (Christmas Day), there will be no services and pick-ups will resume Tuesday, DEC 26th and proceed through Saturday, DEC 30th.

Monday, JAN 1st (New Year’s Day) There will be no services, but pick-ups will resume Tuesday, Jan 2nd and proceed through Saturday, Jan 6th 2024. (Meaning if you regularly have Monday curbside service, your trash/recycling will be picked up on Tuesday, Tuesday will be picked up on Wednesday, Wednesday picked up on Thursday, Thursday picked up on Friday, Friday will be picked up on Saturday.)
