The primary election for South Carolina Senate and House races is June 11. Candidate filing ended Monday. Lexington County Senate and House incumbents are facing challengers.

State Sen. Katrina Shealy will face two challengers for the Senate Dist. 23 seat. They are: Carlisle Kennedy and Zoe Warren. No Democrats filed to run according to the SC Election Commission.

For the SC Senate Dist. 23 seat, three Republicans who filed to run in the state primary are: Chris Smith, Jason Guerry, and Billy R Oswald. Democrats Dick Harpootlian and Russell Ott have filed to run Harpootlian currently represents Dist. 20 in the SC Senate. Ott represents Dist. 93 in the SC House. Sen. Nikki Setzler is not running for reelection.

In House races involving Lexington County, Republican Dist. 89 Rep. Micah Caskey did not draw a primary challenger, but Wayne Borders filed to run as a Democrat, with no primary opposition. The two will face each other in the November General Election.

• In the State House Dist. 85 race, Republican Rep. Jay Kilmartin is being challenged in the primary by Dean Widener.
• In the State House Dist. 87 race, Republican Rep. Paula Rawl Calhoon is being challenged in the primary by J Michael Beatty Jr. and Todd Limehouse.
• In the State House Dist. 88 race, Republican Rep. RJ May is being challenged in the primary by Lorelei Graye.
• In the State House Dist. 96 race, Republican Rep. D Ryan McCabe is being challenged in the primary by Mike Sturkie.
