Lexington County narcotics agents arrest North Carolina man on fentanyl trafficking charges

Lexington County narcotics agents have arrested a North Carolina man accused of trafficking fentanyl.

Brandon Ulysses Pinkard, 41, faces three fentanyl trafficking charges stemming from three controlled purchases earlier this year, according to arrest warrants.

“On two separate occasions in April, investigators with the Lexington County Multi-Agency Narcotics Enforcement Team conducted controlled purchases of fentanyl from Pinkard from a residence on YMCA Road,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said. “In May, Pinkard facilitated another controlled purchase of fentanyl on Jamil Road in Columbia.”

Pinkard was arrested last month, according to Koon.

“Even small amounts of fentanyl can be deadly as drug dealers press the powder into pill form, or sell it in combination with other drugs such as heroin and cocaine,” Koon said. “We’re committed to stopping the flow of fentanyl across the county and the devastation it brings to our community.”

Pinkard is being held in the Lexington County Detention Center.
