The Lexington County Museum will host its 27th Annual Christmas Open House on Sunday, Dec. 10, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
This event will allow visitors to experience Christmas traditions of the past as most of the 30 historic structures on the 6.5 acre Museum complex will be open and will feature period 19th century Christmas decorations. The event is free to the public.
Light refreshments, including hot apple cider and gingerbread, will be served. This event will feature a blacksmith demonstrating his craft as well as a 19th century cooking demonstration that will be offered in our restored 1830 kitchen.
We will also have singing in the ca. 1832 John Fox House and a soap making demonstration. The Open House is a great time for visitors to learn more about the museum and the county’s history. For more information, call the museum at 803-359-8369 or visit our website at www.lexingtoncounymuseum.org
