Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the bicyclist who died after being struck by a vehicle, Friday.

The collision occurred Friday in the 300 block of Main Street in Gaston at approximately 5:50 a.m.

According to Fisher, Mr. Christopher Samson Sharpe, 54, of Gaston was pronounced dead at the scene due to his injuries.

Sharpe was riding his bicycle in the median when he was struck by a northbound vehicle. The vehicle fled the scene of the collision. The collision is being investigated by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
