The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Jordan Hysell, 27, with Inflicting Great Bodily Injury Upon a Child on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. The Chapin Police Department requested the SLED investigation.

The alleged abuse took place between Nov 1, 2024 and Dec. 1 2024. The charges were based on medical records, medical evaluation, witness statements, interviews and digital evidence.

Hysell was booked into the Lexington County Detention Center.
The case will be prosecuted by the 11th Circuit Solicitor’s Offices.
