Lexington County Fire Service Investigating Fatal Residential Structure Fire on Darian Drive in Red Bank

Lexington County Fire Service and EMS responded to a fatal residential structure fire in the 100 block of Darian Drive in the Red Bank community Sunday evening, just before midnight.

Lexington County 911 received a call of a single-story residential structure fire at around 11:45 p.m. and dispatched Fire Service and EMS to the location.

Upon arrival, smoke and flames were observed coming from the structure. Firefighters entered the residence to perform a primary search and found a single victim inside. After pulling the victim from the home, the victim was confirmed deceased.

After further investigation, firefighters discovered there were no working smoke alarms inside of the residence. The residence suffered an estimated $45,000 in damages. There were no other people inside of the structure at the time of the fire and no other injuries reported.

Lexington County Fire Marshal’s Office will continue to investigate the cause of the fire.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office will investigate the victim’s cause of death.
