Lexington County Detention Center inmate dies in cell
A Lexington County Detention Center inmate died overnight in a cell. The inmate was found unresponsive this morning about 5:30.
The State Law Enforcement Division and the Lexington County Coroner’s Office are conducting an investigation into the incident.
Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher identified the inmate who was found
unresponsive as William Dantzler Day, III, 43, of Gaston.
An autopsy will be performed on Tuesday, to determine the cause of
death.
The incident remains under investigation by the State Law Enforcement Division and the
Lexington County Coroner’s Office.
