A Columbia man faces a handful of charges after a Saturday evening shooting on Havenwood Drive in Gaston.

Michael Eugene Parker, 37, is charged with attempted murder, first and second degree assault and battery, domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, and pointing and presenting a firearm, according to arrest warrants.

“Parker was at a residence on Havenwood Drive when an argument began,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said. “Based on information detectives gathered at the scene, Parker physically assaulted two victims before pulling a gun and shooting a third victim.”

According to investigators, Parker fled the home and went to a residence on Wood Trail Drive. Deputies said Parker asked for a ride there but was denied. Parker assaulted the homeowner and pointed a gun at him, according to Koon.

Deputies arrested Parker at the Wood Trail Drive residence. He’s being held in the Lexington County Detention Center.
