Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher, is releasing the autopsy results of Mr. Shavon M. Wright, 29,
of West Columbia, from the incident that occurred in the early morning hours on Wednesday, June 21st ,
2023 on Montclaire Cir., located in the West Columbia area of Lexington County.

According to Coroner Fisher, an autopsy was performed Saturday morning at the Medical
University of South Carolina in Charleston. Preliminary autopsy results determined the cause of death to
be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, with the manner of death being suicide. Mr. Wright
sustained 3 other gunshot wounds during the incident, all of which were determined to be non-fatal by
pathology.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, as well as Lexington County Coroner’s Office continues to
investigate this incident.
